MUTABAZI KEEPS THE MOMENTUM GOING WITH NEW SINGLE “SO FAR”

Mutabazi has been on heavy momentum this year as we approach the fall season and look ahead to his upcoming album, Live and Learn.

The independent artist will be releasing his new track “So Far” on Friday, August 21, marking his fifth single of the year—a tremendous showing of talent, consistency, and determination.

When speaking with Mutabazi, he explained his year of music and why he continues to stay strong in such a competitive and talented industry.

“I honestly love to collaborate with other artists and have in the past.

I also make sure to learn from both the industry side and independent side to get better.

This was a year, though, that I knew I wanted to test myself solely as an artist because I knew there were weaknesses that I needed to work on and improve from the past years.”

As for “So Far,” Mutabazi describes the track as a blend of different eras of music.

“‘So Far’ is a mix of old-school rhythm with a bit of new school.

I’m a ’90s baby, so I definitely carry tradition from both the past and the present when it comes to music.”

While Mutabazi has often been associated with R&B, this year has also given him an opportunity to explore different sides of his artistry.

“I don’t regard myself as a rapper. I’ve always been more R&B, but this year I have tested the waters a bit, and I would love to get better at that in the future.

In all honesty, I don’t even want to call it rap.

I have to come up with a new genre, but I’m working hard every day to create new things.”

For Mutabazi, keeping generations connected through music is an important part of what makes the art form special.

“Keeping all generations through time in our music is key.

We definitely need that back in all genres, and it’s starting to happen slowly as I listen to other artists across the world.”

Building toward Live and Learn

Mutabazi has already gifted listeners with several tracks that will appear on Live and Learn.

All of the songs released this year have served as singles leading into the project, which is set to be a 23-track album and his first official project.

The momentum began with “That’s the Way,” “Water,” “Peace of Mind,” and “Wildin,” leading up to the much-anticipated R&B track “So Far,” produced by Gamz The Supplyer.

Speaking about his relationship with Gamz, Mutabazi said:

“Gamz is one of the guys in the studio that I’m comfortable with, and we always lock in with no problem.

He’s consistent just as I am and definitely a brother to me. He has shown me how to be a better artist through the years. Us as artists are definitely not as great without our producers and team, so I’m always thankful for that.”

That appreciation for consistency, hard work, and the people around him has been a major theme throughout Mutabazi’s year.

“I know in the industry you definitely need consistency. Overtime, my goal is to keep grinding. That’s what music shows you. If you want to be successful, quality and hard work are key every day, even when it’s a headache.

It’s genuinely a real passion, and in any artistry, the freedom to keep creating is one of the things I love about music.”

With five singles now leading into Live and Learn, Mutabazi continues to show that his journey is about more than simply releasing music.

It’s about growth, experimentation, consistency, and creating something that can connect across generations.

“So Far” is ready to launch and will be available on all major platforms Friday, August 21, 2026.
